“le gigantisme pianistique”
“l’interprète magnifique”
“Grande Dame”

A season of festivals comes to a close only to bring more glory as Gülsin Onay opens the new concert season with concerts in four countries.

Gülsin Onay’s festival appearances over the summer were lauded in the international press with words no less than “le gigantisme pianistique”, “l’interprete magnifique”. Her rendition of Rachmaninov’s 3rd Piano Concerto with the NDR Radio Philharmonic at the Schleswig-Holstein Festival received standing ovations and a very positive review in Die Welt, where Peter Krause wrote:
“The grand dame of Turkish piano plays the Third Piano Concerto so wonderfully unfashionable, so gently noble, poetic and impressionistic that you can discover the elegant Fairy in the essence of this frequently so called Elephant Concerto.”

The live recordings of this amazing concert are now on YouTube!

The whole Schleswig-Holstein Festival concert will be broadcasted on NDR Kultur on September 25th, Sunday at 22:00 hours and can be listened online at

Gülsin Onay gave the closing concert of her Gümüslük Classical Music Festival on the 17th of September and went on to open the North Cyprus Music Festival on the 19th.

Now she will play in Deutschlandsberg on the 25th, performing the works of Haydn, Schubert, Bartok and Liszt to her faithful audience. Gülsin Onay will then return to Germany, this time for two recitals - at Alte Oper Frankfurt on the 27th and in Bielefeld two days later.

Gulsin Onay’s first concert in Turkey this season will be with the great maestro Vladimir Fedoseyev at Bilkent Symphony Orchestra on October 7th. She will play Tchaikovsky’s 1st Piano Concerto, which she has played to enthusiastic audiences all over the world and recorded to much critical acclaim.
