Gulsin Onay begins her 2009-10 season at whirlwind pace, with a string of concerts across 3 continents. After her tour in England in mid-September, with 5 concerts in as many days, October takes her to Skopje, Argentina, Uruguay, Madrid and Oslo.

Gulsin Onay gave five recitals in England between 16 and 20 September; followed immediately by an appearance at the North Cyprus Music Festival, in the historic Bellapais Abbey (left). Much welcomed by her devoted fans in both countries, Ms. Onay expressed her great pleasure in performing again to a familiar and enthusiastic audience.

The piano virtuoso then flew to Skopje to open the season at the Macedonian Philharmonic. Her interpretation of the Grieg Concerto, accompanied by the elegant conducting of Maestro Urosh Lajovic, received a standing ovation at the packed house. Gulsin Onay thanked the audience with two encores.

Argentina and Uruguay Debuts

From Europe to South America, where Gulsin Onay makes debut appearances in Argentina and Uruguay. Her much-anticipated visit takes her to Buenos Aires, Salta, the Semana Musical Llao-Llao Festival in Bariloche, and to Montevideo in Uruguay. In the Argentinean capital, she gives two recitals as well as a master class. After playing in 60 countries across all continents, Gulsin Onay still embraces eagerly the opportunity to perform in new places, whenever it arises.

Her Latin tour ends in Spain, where she gives a recital at the Marquis Borghetto Palace in Madrid. After a brief trip to play in her native Istanbul, she goes to Oslo for a recital as part of the 29 October Republic Day celebrations.
